Finding the perfect dress for your body is easier said than done. The best way to find the dress for you is being completely honest with yourself. Not all of us can rock a bodycon dress or a pull off the deep V/low cut top. Sometimes the hottest trends simply do not work for everyone and that’s okay. However, you do need to own your body type and find your best fit.
For me, I am very top heavy and I need to wear a bra. Sometimes I can pull off a backless dress and wear a sticky bra, but I feel the most comfortable wearing a bra even if that is just a strapless. The key is to find a cleavage cut dress with a covered back and thick straps. This allows me to have the support I need and I feel better when my chest isn’t sagging and blasting all over the place.
Unfortunately, I have put on some weight this year and I do not feel confident wearing a bodycon dress or a two piece outfit like I rocked every weekend last summer. I have a bit of a tummy tum that I typically cover it with spanx and photoshop. I feel the most comfortable when wearing dresses that are tight around the waist and flow out right over my little pooch. The best dresses for this are a-line, fit & flare, empire waist, and wrap dresses. In my opinion those style of dresses are the most flattering.

If you’re ever in the West Village on Jones and Bleecker you have to check out Mulberry & Grand. It has the cutest clothing and accessories. Everything in the store is reasonably priced and I snagged this dress for $65. I need more dresses in this style and fit for every season. I feel absolutely confident in this dress because it covers my insecurities.
