Making moves with Roadway Moving

Pop the champagne y’all cause we have OFFICIALLY moved! For those who may not know Eric and I are from the Bay Area, moved to New York, and after 4.5 amazing years in the Big Apple we decided it was time to move back west. The decision to leave NYC wasn’t easy and deciding where to live wasn’t easy. The easiest part of this process was choosing Roadway Moving as our movers.

I’ll keep it real…yes this is collaboration post, but all my opinions are 100% genuine. I found Roadway through Instagram because I saw them partner with so many bloggers in NYC. I reached out and decided what the hell I’ll give them a throw too. After speaking with their amazing team they set me up with a full-service move. I wasn’t sure what a full-service move was until she confirmed, “they’ll do everything for you!”

I was so nervous about this move because two weeks before leaving NYC I hurt my back and x-rays said I had a herniated disc. I couldn’t believe it, what was I going to do? I can barely tie my own shoes, so there was no way I would be able to pack or lift a box. That’s where the full-service move came in. Their motto is, “Moving doesn’t have to be a bitch” and they sure as hell lived up to that.My movers we’re scheduled to arrive at 11am and prior to them arriving I got text messages updating me on the exact time they’ll arrive. When they showed up the team was freaking amazing.

Now let’s talk full-service… OH-M-G!!! When we moved from CA to NYC and from Murray Hill to the West Village we did NOT have a “full-service move.” I’m never packing a box again. Roadway took care of everything. They packed every dish in the kitchen, wrapped every champagne glass in the bar, wrapped up our massive 10-person sectional sofa, and all my clothes. I have A LOT of clothes, I felt so bad for that guy. He was even so delicate with all my jewelry that at one point I caught him individually wrapping each piece of jewelry. Once I caught that I told him, “no no I’m trendy not spendy, just throw it all in a box.”

Being that is was a collaboration I obvi had to take pics. The team actually set up all the boxes for me, so I could have a photoshoot in front of the truck. Haha, you never see that with movers. Three hours later and there went our tiny West Village apartment off to the West Coast.I was told our furniture would arrive between September 13th and 27th. Our lease started on the 13th and I stressed how much I needed all our furniture on the 13th. The team went above and beyond to accommodate us. I got a call and the text from the driver giving me the play by play when our furniture was going to arrive. We drove cross country and arrived at our new apartment at 2pm and the movers arrived at 3pm on the dot. It couldn’t have worked out anymore perfectly.

When they arrived the movers scanned every single box that came off the truck and all 50 boxes (yes 50) made it safely to our new apartment. The team of two threw down the blankets to make sure they didn’t scuff the floors. Our new apartment is brand spanking new and we had to be careful not to scratch or damage anything. The guys put every box in their prospective rooms and since we we’re just sitting around we decided to unpack some boxes ourselves. The movers offered to unpacked some things for us, but we wanted to do it ourselves. It was hella nice that they took the empty boxes back with them.

After we unpacked all our boxes it was confirmed everything made is safely across the country. I was shocked that we only had one glass break, everything else was wrapped and safely snug in the boxes. It was hands down the best move experience we’ve ever had and Eric said the exact same thing.

When we have to move again you better believe I’m using Roadway Moving.
