Trendy Not Spendy

You know that term when people are referring to work about “drinking the Kool-Aid?” Well, I officially drank the Winky Lux Kool-Aid. When starting my job at Winky Lux I had never heard of the company before nor seen their products in store. Maybe that’s because I never go to a mall and I buy most of my makeup at my local drugstores. I had to google Winky Lux to learn that we’re in over 25 retail stores. We’re even some of my favorite stores like Nordstrom, Forever 21, Asos, Ulta, etc.

It wasn’t until I started working at the company in January that I learned to love the products and the company. It was official, I drank the Kool-Aid. I absolutely LOVE our products. I have so much damn makeup in my closet and now I only use Winky products. So, for those who haven’t tried Winky Lux I’m here to share my favorite products with you because I’m confident you’ll love them as much as I do. 

Eyes

Our eye shadow palettes are the shit! I have three of our palettes and that’s all I use now. Our Coffee Palette and Kitten Palette are my favs. The Coffee Palette actually smells like coffee, it’s crazy! I use the Coffee Palette daily and I typically use the same four colors each day. What’s great is the Espresso color in the eye palette I use for my eyeliner too. I stopped using liquid eyeliner and now I use shadow instead. All our palettes give you the perfect combo for day and night looks. I got both of these palettes in February and the colors are lasting awhile. They are perfect for traveling because it’s every color you’ll need in one palette. 

To top it off I even started using our Uni-brow Eye Pencil. It comes in “one shade fits all” and it actually does. I’ve seen a ton of girls with different color brows use this. I was pleasantly surprised and highly recommend it.

Lips

I haven’t tried all the lipsticks yet, but I def have some solid favs out of the ones I’ve tried. We’re known for our Flower Balm. You may have seen it before all over social media or in Facebook ads. It’s that clear lip balm with a flower inside. That bad boy flies off the shelf like crazy and pretty much pays the rent. It’s pH-activated, applies clear, and changes to the perfect shade of pink. It’s sister balms are the 24k Glimmer Balm and Glimmer Balm. Both great lip balms because of how moisturizering they are. Not pH changing, but packed with moisture is our Matcha Balm. It smells like a Matcha Kit Kat. SO GOOD! Our Double Matte Whip Liquid Lip is phenomenal! For the longest time I was hooked on the Maybelline Matte Liquid Lip, but that product almost works too well because it was such a b**ch to take off. My favorite colors in our liquid lip is Shortcake and Lolli.

Our Lip Velours are pretty amazing too! For a good everyday color I recommend Pippy (named after my CEOs dog). For that perfect pop of “reddish” I recommend Dirty Love. Looking for the perfect everyday lip gloss? Try our Donut Glazed Lip Gloss in the shade Praline. It also smells like a fresh donut. Oh and how could I forget our Mini Lip Pills! Ugh-obsessed. They are miniature versions of our Lip Velours and they look like pills. Perfect for your pocket or clutch.

Face

My three favorite face products are our Diamond Powder Foundation in the color medium. It’s a great pressed powder and I love the new gold case. Our Tinted Moisturizer launched this year and I use it daily. I have it in the color medium and it’s perfect for that “natural” look. It provides little, but enough coverage and has SPF 30 which is pretty amazing. I’m not a huge fan of the scent, but everyone else loves it. Maybe it’s just me.

I recently just tried our Peeper Perfect Concealer in the shade medium and LOVE IT! I wish we sold it in full-size cause I want to put it all over my face. It’s hides all my sunspots and blemishes. If you are on the hunt for the perfect highlight search no more, our Powder Lights in Charmed is one of the best highlighters I’ve ever tried. I haven’t tried our Whipped Cream Primer or Dream Gelee yet. Those are next on my list because people rave about them.

Products I’m looking forward to and hoping Winky Lux launches someday would be an eyeliner, blush, lip liner, and a mascara. I know that since I’ve love everything so far and I’ll def loved whatever we launch next. I’m confident that if I drank the Kool-Aid you will too. I highly recommend Winky Lux products.
